Don’t Forget! PTA Meeting is this Thursday, October 9th at 12pm (location will be posted in the office). Everyone (including children) is welcome! Bring lunch and get the low-down on what’s going on at Congdon!
We are quickly reaching the end of our fundraiser and still have $11,552.11 to go! PTA does not want to have to cut funding for things like Family Fun Nights, field trips, or ask our children to start door to door sales. This is our only fundraiser for the year. Remember anyone can donate, businesses, neighbors, relatives; anyone you would ask to purchase cookie dough or wrapping paper. No amount is too small and is fully tax deductible. Forms available outside the office, or go on-line to give at www.givemn.org/organization/congdonparkpta. Thank you to the families that have already donated!
Book Fair this week!! Oct. 7-10. There are still volunteer openings so please sign up for one or more 2 hour shifts. http://vols.pt/6aMHa2 Any questions call or email Katherine Rubin, email@example.com, 218-341-7055.

We will start serving dinner at 5:30pm, followed by experiment stations hosted by the UMD Chemistry and Biochemistry Clubs (and maybe the Physics Club too!!) starting at 6pm. JUST ADDED, the Zoomobile will also be here with some creatures to get to know! Please RSVP by Tuesday, October 21, so we can get an accurate count for dinner. We also need some volunteers to help serve food and make the evening go smoothly. Contact Jeana Marshak at 728-9427 or firstname.lastname@example.org with questions. Please RSVP below and sign-up to help via Volunteer Spot http://vols.pt/z8qVoY
Hey Congdon families and friends! Socktober was kicked off at Congdon Park today. Our wonderful 5th graders have been working on the keeping the "social" in social studies. They prepared and presented information today to all of the classrooms about Socktober - a wonderful GIVING opportunity to donate socks to the homeless in our community. A representative from CHUM came to visit the 5th graders to help the kids understand why socks are so important to the homeless. Please ask your child about it. So please consider donating some socks - all sizes needed - to help out the homeless in our community. To find out more, please watch this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sbG-172e_Y#t=78
Winter is cold in Duluth and too many of our kids don't have jackets! Superintendent Bill Gronseth is willing to shave his beard if he can raise enough money for 75 jackets! Will you help to provide jackets by making a donation? http://www.warmduluth.com/beards.html

You can find rules and guidelines for submission categories on our website under the PTA tab. http://congdon-elementary.isd709.org/about-us/pta/reflections More information on deadlines for entries coming soon.
