As you may remember, many families were displaced by a fire during the April break that burned their apartment building on 2nd Street and 17th Avenue East.  Three of those families have children here at Congdon.

The Congdon staff is planning a fundraiser/bake sale.   Stop by the Bake Sale table before or after the Talent Show to purchase some yummy home-made treats made by the staff, and make a donation by cash or gift card.   All profits will be given to the displaced families.  The Talent Show is set for 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8.  Check out the sale before or after the show.  If you cannot attend, you can still donate!  See Jane in the office or Kim in the nurse’s office or click http://www.gofundme.com/ta9px8. Questions?  Contact Jane in the office or Kim in the nurse’s office at school.

Don’t forget to attend this year’s Talent Show on Friday, showcasing a multitude of talented Congdon kids - you’ll be able to say you saw them before they were famous!!  The fun starts at 6pm in the gymnasium.

PHIT meets Thursday, May 7.  Come join us anytime between 8-11 in the PTA room and work on teacher projects.  Younger siblings welcome! This is a great way to help out our great teachers here at Congdon!

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK is May 4th through the 8th.  Students made a collective give for all Teachers/Staff but if they'd like to honor their teacher in some way they are welcome to do so. If you would like to volunteer and contribute, please contact amygoei@yahoo.com for details.

The 3rd through 5th grade students will be participating in the Fit and Fun Run on Wednesday, May 20th at Public School Stadium (Denfeld High School).  Buses will load at 8:50am, the students will run at approximately 9:10am and return to school at 9:55am.

The Social Concerns Committee is collecting clothing items for the Nurse's Office.  They are in need of size 6 and 8 underwear and size 5-6 and 7-8 sweatpants for boys and girls.  Please drop off donations in the Office.  Thank you!

Please check the lost and found for any items that you child may have left behind.  We have collected a hallway full of quality items.  All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the year so don’t miss your chance to reclaim them!

Book Fair is here!   Shop for all your summer reads.   Great selection will be in stock.   The children will have an opportunity to check out the Book Fair during school hours and shop if they have money.   Tuesday, May 5 through Thursday, May 7 hours will be 8am- 4pm.
