PTA mission is to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering famlies and communities to advocate for all children.
Collaboration: We work in partnership with a wide array of individuals and organizations to accomplish our goals.
Commitment: We are dedicated to promoting children's health, well-being, and educational success through strong parent, family and community involvement.
The Purposes of the Congdon Park PTA in common with those of the National PTA and the Minnesota PSTA are:
Basic policy: Our organization shall work to promote the health and welfare of children and youth and shall seek to promote collaboration between parents, schools and the community at large.
WHAT IS THE PTA AT CONGDON PARK ALL ABOUT?
Mobilizes & Organizes Volunteers
Volunteers are at the core of our program. They are what make this whole organization work. Each event is run by a “Chair” who organizes other volunteers for the event. Volunteering is a great way to meet other families. And if every parent gets involved in even just one event, it makes a big difference!
Supports our Principal & Staff
At Congdon Park we really appreciate the hard work and dedication of all our teachers, staff, and principal. We support and supplement the school budget financially, and sponsor morale-boosting events such as Staff Luncheons, Conference Dinners, & Staff Appreciation Week.
Leads Programs & Events
We have many wonderful traditions here at Congdon Park. Some of our ongoing programs include: PHIT (Parents Helping Incredible Teachers), producing The Weekly Update, and our semi-annual Book Fairs. We have a whole host of events that include coffees, light PTA dinners, and socials!
Raises Funds to Provide Enrichment to our Families, Students, & Staff
We run fundraising events – So what happens to the funds we raise? Well, we provide funds to enrich Congdon by funding things like library books, art supplies, funds for our teachers to help with classroom supplies, busses for fieldtrips, help fund some after school enrichment programs such as Desstination Imagination, Art Adventures, Junior Great Books, and much more.
We Meet and Welcome YOU to Join Us!
Last but certainly not least – we the PTA meet! The Executive Board meets once a month. This is the time we discuss the Who, What, Where and When of keeping our programs and events running smoothly! We also meet as a general PTA community. We typically hold four General Meetings and our goal is to include relevant and helpful Parent Education topics or Family Fun Nights after the meetings. And EVERYONE is welcome!
