Hello Congdon Park Families,
As we enter into the month of December, we see many changes. The weather has definitely shifted and our students have moved from the fall memories into deep thinking about winter and what that looks like, feels like, and sounds like. Here at Congdon Park all students go outside each day for recess. Please make sure your child wears warm clothes to school. Hats, mittens, boots, etc. are very important. Please make sure to label all of your child’s items as many, many things end up in the lost and found.
Our focus this year is studying how we can adjust and teach our students at their “just right” level. Teachers are sharing ideas, reading books, and gathering resources to help them best serve ALL children at Congdon. Please look for suggestions your child’s teacher might communicate in terms of how you can help supplement the learning at home as well. We are striving for students who are actively engaged in their learning. I know I learn best when I have choices, different groupings to work with, lots of movement and activities that push me to stretch my thinking. That is the experience we want our kids to have every day.
I always experience great pride when I think of the amazing support our families generously give to Congdon. Our rich student life wouldn’t be possible without the Parent Energy that flows throughout our building. Many things that we have all come to expect as part of the school experience certainly wouldn’t go as smoothly, or might not happen at all without family support. Thanks for working in partnership with us to reach our goals.
With Peace Always,
