Professional Learning Committees

At Congdon Park School, we participate in Professional Learning Communities.  Teachers meet weekly for about an hour to discuss student progress, what teaching strategies and interventions are working or not working, and to compare assessment results.

Professional learning community (PLC)

An ongoing process in which educators work collaboratively in recurring cycles of collective inquiry and action research to achieve better results for the students they serve. Professional learning communities operate under the assumption that the key to improved learning for students is continuous job-embedded learning for educators.

Right now, our focus is on Reading.  Specifically, we're working to improve our use of Guided Reading and it's place within Balanced Literacy.  We're implementing new reading materials, so there's a lot of Reading learning going on.

Teachers, please use this FORM for reporting.
